Completed practice example
| Area / opening | Purpose or permission | Condition to test | Expected result / evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Warehouse far door camera | See activity; use a separate suitable view for required person detail | Person walking toward and away from the door; daytime and low light | Review the saved clip for the agreed detail; note date/time and settings |
| Door A / contractor group | Weekdays 09:00-17:00, expiry Friday; assigned approver | Approved time, prohibited time and after expiry | Grant/deny events match the approved schedule; verify physical door behavior separately |
| Video export role | Supervisor only, approved purpose | Supervisor test and ordinary viewer test | Approved export works; viewer export is denied; keep audit evidence |
A camera being online does not prove useful footage. “Access granted” does not prove passage or that a door secured afterward. Keep those acceptance checks separate.
Close the loop
Record failures, evidence location, responsible role, due date and the result of the retest. Real-door changes require qualified ownership and an approved plan.
