Single-mode or multimode?

Distance, bandwidth, optics, existing standards, and future plans determine the choice. Single-mode is often preferred for new backbone work, but the whole system must be considered.

Is a link light enough to accept the work?

No. A lit link does not prove acceptable loss, polarity, cleanliness, routing, or documentation.

Can you install and splice the same project?

Yes. Installation, fusion splicing, testing, and turnover can be coordinated as one scope.
