Use when a UniFi device is offline, adoption failed, isolated, or repeatedly reconnecting.

  • Controller and device logs
Safety and access warning: Confirm authorization, service impact, electrical and optical hazards, required PPE, and rollback procedures before touching production infrastructure. Stop when conditions exceed your training or test equipment.

Step-by-step procedure

  1. Verify link, PoE standard, cable wiremap, and switch-port errors.
  2. Confirm the device receives the expected IP, gateway, DNS, and VLAN.
  3. Verify controller reachability and time synchronization.
  4. Review console events and device logs before resetting.
  5. Correct stale ownership, inform, firewall, or version issues using the least disruptive method.
  6. Adopt, update deliberately, and monitor reconnection history.
